Like everyone else, I totally get caught up with buying fancy coffee drinks in holiday red cups. Sure, they taste REALLY good, but the cost adds up. What if I told you you can make your own fancy coffee drinks at home using one of the best kitchen gadgets….your slow cooker!
What Goes In A Chai Tea Latte?
A traditional chai tea latte is made up of chai tea (which is black eat that has been infused with cardamom, black pepper, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves).
The tea is often sweetened with sugar (white or brown sugar), maple syrup or honey and vanilla extract. The mixture is then topped with frothed milk. Sometimes the milk is heated then air is mixed using an immersion blender.
Does Chai Tea Latte Have Coffee?
The chai lattes you buy at your coffee shop usually doesn’t contain coffee, although it can contain caffeine.
This recipe is a little different as combines coffee, chai tea, and a little chocolate for a mocha-fied chai tea latte!
How To Make Mocha Chai Tea Latte At Home?
You are going to love super simple this recipe!
In your slow cooker, combine brewed coffee and premade chai latte mix. I used the carton variety that you find with the tea bags in your grocery store.
An alternative to this would be to steep chai tea bags in milk to infuse the flavor.
To the tea mixture whisk in milk, your favorite cocoa mix, and chocolate chips. Whisk until the chocolate is melted.
Heat the latte on low for about an hour. Keep this mixture on warm all day for your family, friends, and guest to enjoy!
If you find yourself with leftovers, place the latte in a pitcher and store it in the fridge.
This chai tea latte can be served iced or warm.
How Do You Reheat Chai Tea Latte?
Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend reheating this latte. The dairy can curdle and sour if reheated. If you find yourself with leftovers, get over the idea of having it warm and just enjoy it iced!
OR grab your slow cooker and make another batch!
