Sweet peaches and woodsy bourbon are swirled together in this easy bourbon slush punch!
This cool and satisfying party drink will no doubt be the life of any party!
I never was much of a bourbon drinker, I only used bourbon in recipes like bourbon chicken recipe or in slower cooker bourbon pulled pork. One ice ball maker forever changed the way I see bourbon. It is no longer an added ingredient, it is the star of the show.
I was at a neighbor’s house for a summer cookout when my friend’s husband revealed a gorgeous, stainless steel ice ball maker he had received as a gift. This device would slowly turn a block of ice into a perfect orb that was meant to keep one’s bourbon cold for as long as you wanted it to. I sat mesmerized as each sphere was expertly formed. It was like watching glass being blown, I couldn’t turn my eyes away lest I missed the art that was being made. Although bourbon was not my thing, I couldn’t pass up the chance to test an ice ball out myself.
That was how I grew to love bourbon. Bourbon has such a deep, rich flavor with complex undertones that pairs well with fruity cocktails like this Bourbon Daisy and this Pineapple Bourbon Punch. Bourbon is especially complimented by the sweet taste of peaches.
This frozen bourbon slush punch is the perfect party cocktail. It is made in advance, frozen and brought out just before your guests arrive. This recipe starts with peach flavored frozen daiquiri mixers. Peach nectar, orange juice, and of course bourbon are stirred into the mix. The entire batch is placed in the freezer just until party time. I found that the mix did not freeze solid, but stayed slushie because of the alcohol. You will not need a lot of time to thaw this.
To keep things nice and cool top the punch and each glass with frozen peach slices!
