What Is Nashville Hot Chicken?
Nashville hot chicken is a type of fried chicken that is coated with a cayenne-based sauce. The chicken is crispy and fiery and altogether delicious! It is one of my favorite ways to eat chicken.
While I may not be able to indulge my Nashville Hot Chicken craving with actual chicken, I CAN enjoy the flavor in kettle chips, specifically Kroger’s Nashville Hot Chicken Kettle Chips!

Chicken Dip Tips and Substitutions
I LOVE using rotisserie chicken anytime a recipe calls for shredded chicken. However, two cans of chicken can easily be substituted.
I used reduced fat Kroger brand cream cheese, you can play around with this and even use cream cheese made with Greek yogurt and while we are talking about yogurt, sour cream can replace the yogurt called for in this recipe.
For the cheese, I used an Italian blend shredded cheese. Mozzarella is just fine on its own.
I added just a few drops of hot sauce to my cheese mixture, but feel free to play around with this. Adjust the heat to your tastes.
Finally, you can certainly use all potato chips for the topping! They stay crunchy and add incredible flavor! If you cannot find Nashville Hot Chicken Chips, BBQ, Mesquite, Jalapeno, or any of your favorite flavors can be used!
What To Serve With This Hot Chicken Dip?
This creamy dip needs something sturdy enough to scoop it up! I love a sturdy cracker like Triskets or Wheat Thins, but pretzels, bagel chips, bread rounds, pita chips or scoop style corn or tortilla chips will work as well!
I also wouldnt judge you if you just used a spoon!

What else can you use instead of the Nashville potato chips? We don’t have Kroger stores here
Tanya Schroeder says
You can use a bbq flavored chip, any kind of chip with black pepper, spicy chips and if all else fails, a traditional chip. If you us a traditional chip, you can add spices to your breadcrumb mixture like paprika and cayenne pepper.
