This Buffalo chicken dip is not your ordinary chicken dip! This layered dip has a unique blend of flavors that come together to give you an exciting snacking experience!
It seems like for the past few years, the NCAA basketball championship and the Reds Opening Day fell on the same day. It was the perfect set up. Root for the home team during the day and then finalize my bracket at night. One of the best days of sports around.
This year they will be on separate days, which is a little bit of a bummer. But that’s ok. Now I get to indulge in ballpark food on one day AND then on basketball night I will bring out all my favorite snacks!
What Is Buffalo Chicken Dip?
Traditionally chicken dip has cream cheese, shredded chicken, and Ranch or Blue cheese dressing. I’ve seen this dip served both hot and cold.
My version takes the same concept but changes the flavors just a bit, making it a little lighter and healthier.
How to Make Layered Buffalo Chicken Dip
To begin, combine softened cream cheese and sour cream and garlic seasoning. Spread the cream cheese mixture on the bottom of a baking dish.
Top the cream cheese mixture with roasted garlic hummus.
Combine rotisserie chicken and Buffalo sauce and then layer the chicken mixture over the hummus.
Top the mixture with shredded Monterey Jack cheese, finely chopped celery and blue cheese crumbles.
That’s all there is to it!
How To Serve This Buffalo Chicken Dip?
I chose to serve this dip cold, but if you wanted to serve this dip warm, the place the dip (omitting the celery and blue cheese) in a 350-degree oven for 15-18 minutes, or until hot and bubbly. Remove and top with celery and cheese crumbles.
What Goes With Buffalo Chicken Dip?
This dip is super versatile; it can be served with almost anything!
I like to serve this dip with a variety of vegetables. Chips, tortilla chips, and pita chips are also great with this easy appetizer. A variety of crackers are ALWAYS acceptable!
There are ways to modify this buffalo chicken dip, you can add ranch seasoning or ranch dressing to the cream cheese mixture.
If you have leftover chicken breasts, you can use that instead of the rotisserie chicken.
Cheddar cheese can be used in place of the Monterey Jack cheese.
Can You Make Buffalo Chicken Dip In Advance?
Absolutely! This recipe not only comes together super quickly, but you can make it 24 hours in advance. Prepare as directed, cover and chill until needed!
