Cuban pork sandwiches are a real delicatessen treat, but you can easily take the flavors of that tasty sandwich and convert them into a big plate of family-friendly nachos!
These Cuban Pork Nachos are mind-blowing.
Every time my family goes out to eat, something like this happens, my son will say “I’ll have a cheeseburger and ooh, let’s get nachos”. The rest of the family enthusiastically nods in agreement. We are a family that cannot resist a good plate of nachos. We voraciously eat the nachos when they come and then proceed to be in shock when we cannot finish our meal. How long will it take us to realize that we should just order nachos for dinner?
Instead of going out, I am going to start making nachos at home. It will not only save us money and time, but the possibilities are endless! On any given day, I can make Greek Nachos with pita chips or use my outdoor grill for these Grilled Shrimp Nachos. Nachos are fun, easy, versatile and loved by all!
How to make Cuban Nachos
My family loves this Cuban Style Bubble Pizza so I thought the flavors would work just as well on nachos, and I was right! This key to this recipe is to make a good pork tenderloin. Tenderloins are lean and do not take a long time to cook. I simply seasoned my pork with salt and stone ground mustard and then roasted the pork for only 20 minutes. You want your pork to reach 145 degrees, when it comes to pork, having a little pink is good! If you see a little pink, you’ll know your pork will be tender and juicy. Allow the pork to cool slightly and then shredded it with two forks (if cooked right, it should shred very easily).
Top your nachos with shredded pork, shredded deli ham, pickles and a very simple homemade cheese sauce. These Cuban nachos make a great game day snack, party appetizer or weekday meal!

Ingredients
- 1 lb pork tenderloin
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup stone ground mustard
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 cup milk

When pork is ready, shred the pork and place it on tortilla chips. Add the ham and pickles and drizzle cheese sauce over nachos; serve.
