FAQs
Why do Moscow mules get served in copper mugs?
This is a fun science fact- copper keeps drinks well insulated. This means that the drink will stay cold longer and not risk being warmed up by the temperature of your hands as you are holding it, meaning your hands don’t freeze and the ice won’t melt any faster. Perfect for slowly sipping away and enjoying your drink.
What kind of vodka do you use in a Moscow Mule?
You can use any vodka that you already have on hand but the best vodka to use would be Smirnoff because this is the vodka that is said to have started the Moscow mule and be most traditional to use along with the drink. Other brands will work just fine, but if you’re looking to keep your drink a bit more traditional, Smirnoff vodka is what I’d recommend.
Why do they call it a Moscow Mule?
Moscow mules were invented in America in 1941 and given the name “Moscow” because most people associated vodka with coming from Russia. The term “Mule” was added to the name because ginger beer is said to add a nice “kick” to the drink.
