A bloody Mary like no other! This piquant cocktail has all the primary fixings of a good bloody Mary, plus one spicy addition that makes your mouth sing!
I don’t always post popular, mainstream recipes. Sometimes I just post what I like. Recipes like purple cabbage or dill pickle dip may not have mass appeal. And that’s ok. The recipes on this blog are a reflection of me, my heritage and my family. Sometimes the recipes reflect my current mood, perspective or experiences. But they all reflect my tastes (although that may not always be a good thing when it comes to your tastes – sorry about that).
Bloody Mary’s are one of those cocktails that you either love or you hate, there is not in between. I LOVE them. I don’t know many people who drink tomato juice as their beverage of choice, but a good handful of my friends will drink it if you throw in some vodka. And if you make it spicy, well that’s even better.
I took the spice level a whole notch further by adding Buffalo sauce to my bloody Mary. This is where my personal taste and preferences come into play. I am a HUGE Buffalo fan. From Buffalo Chicken Soup to Buffalo Shrimp Deviled Eggs to Buffalo Fettuccine Chicken Alfredo…I can add that sauce to almost anything.
Buffalo sauce is a natural addition to the tomato based bloody Mary’s. The zesty flavor blends in and permeates each sip. I did use a spicy Bloody Mary mix for this recipe, you could use your favorite or make your own. Also, adjust the amount of Buffalo sauce to suit your tastes. I like a quite a bit, but that may not be what you like. Beyond the Buffalo sauce, it’s all about the garnish. Blue cheese stuffed olives, crispy bacon, and celery make the perfect garnish for this sultry cocktail.
