I don’t know what it is like in your house but in my house, I know my family will eat dinner without complaining if it is made with chicken or pasta. They like things simple; fancy ingredients are lost on them.
Chicken and pasta will get boring very quickly if it is plain, but luckily all you need is a little sauce, some cheese, and the right coating to turn chicken and pasta into something fantastic!

How To Make Baked Chicken Parmesan Pasta
STEP ONE – Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season chicken with salt and pepper and add the chicken to the hot skillet. Cook the chicken for 4-5 minutes per side or until browned. Remove chicken and set aside.
STEP TWO – Place the marinara sauce in the same skillet. Season the marinara with Italian seasoning and garlic salt.
STEP THREE– Place DRIED pasta into the marinara sauce and nestle chicken into the pasta. Add enough chicken broth to cover the past.
STEP FOUR – Cover the skillet and place it in a 400-degree oven. Bake the chicken for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally. Place cheese over the chicken during the last few minutes of cooking. Broil on low if desired until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Baked Chicken Parmesan Pasta Recipe Tips
-Chicken tenders can be used in place of the chicken breasts, BUT they cook so much quicker than chicken breasts. I would not add the chicken tenders to the skillet until the pasta is almost cooked through.
-Use a small shaped pasta in this dish. Smaller pasta will require less liquid to cook!
-I used marinara sauce, but use for favorite tomato sauce for this recipe (use store-bought or make your own marinara!)
-Check your pasta as it cooks in the oven! You want to make sure that the broth covers the pasta; as it cooks the liquid will be absorbed. If you find that the pasta is still dry and not cooking, add broth, a little at a time until your pasta is covered again and cooks until al dente.
-Fresh mozzarella can be used in place of the sliced, it will melt a little longer to melt.
-A sprinkling of panko bread crumbs or traditional bread crumbs, tossed with butter can be added before serving in keeping with the traditional baked chicken parmesan recipe!
What To Serve With This Baked Chicken Recipe?
This is a filling, one pot recipe, so you don’t need to serve much on the side. Garlic bread is always a fan favorite, but you can also serve a simple spinach salad, kale salad, or Greek salad.
